I create illustrative mushroom characters that have cute smiling faces. I use the unique and beautiful shapes that mushrooms create and use fantastical forms to make the paintings, drawings and ceramics in this series. I add smiling faces to each mushroom to give them individual personalities that make them joyful characters.

In Alyssa's depictions of insects, critters, and other earthly neighbors, she touches on themes of interconnectedness, and explores our innate ability to be curious. Her drawings urge us to find empathy for the overlooked creatures of the natural world.

I make both usable items (such as bowls, vases, coasters, plates, jewelry, key chains, etc.) as well as decorative items (Christmas ornaments, figurines of animals, sun catchers, various types of wall or table art, faux stained glass, mounting printed photos on stretched canvas) made mostly with epoxy resin, glass, and a wide range of inks, powders, and paints.

Art from found treasures — where nature meets the whimsical. Here, you will find unique pieces made from lost things, repurposed things, or made-from-scratch things. My quilted pieces often draw on outdoor themes, weaving color and texture into cozy expressions, incorporating fabrics I dyed myself. You'll encounter painted or decoupaged oyster shells gathered from a local oyster farm.
