Yankee Homecoming is Newburyport's nine-day community festival, held annually since 1958 when the city joined twenty-nine other New England communities in a celebration to bring people together; Newburyport is the only one of those communities to have held the festival continuously ever since. The 2026 festival runs July 25 through August 2 and is a 100% non-profit event. Programming spans the waterfront concert series, Olde Fashioned Sunday at the Bartlet Mall, a juried craft show of more than 60 crafters at Waterfront Park, Art on the Bartlet Mall, downtown sidewalk sales, heritage tours, a U.S. Coast Guard open house, Family Day, fireworks and a closing Sunday parade.
