The Topsfield Fair is an eleven-day agricultural fair on Boston Street in Topsfield, MA, owned and operated by the Essex Agricultural Society since the Society's first cattle show on October 5, 1820. The fair travelled around Essex County for roughly a century before settling permanently in Topsfield in 1910, and the Society marked its 200th anniversary in 2018. Today the grounds fill with midway rides, farm animals, live music, food and competitive exhibits, and its best-known event is the All New England Giant Pumpkin Weigh-Off — first hosted here in 1984 and the site of the world's first one-ton pumpkin in 2012. Alongside the fair, the Society runs the Northeast Harvest buy-local program for Essex and Middlesex counties and rents the fairgrounds year-round.
