The Sterling Fair is an all-volunteer, family-oriented community agricultural fair held at Sterling Airport on Greenland Road, with the emphasis, in the organizers' words, on agriculture and education. They bill it as New England's largest free fair: admission and parking are both free, paid for by sponsorships and by the annual Fair Button sold through Sterling businesses each summer. Across the weekend it runs midway rides, horse, oxen and tractor pulls, an antique engine and machinery show, livestock shows, a farmers' market, food and craft vendors, live entertainment and Friday-night fireworks. The exhibit side includes a general exhibit hall and a dedicated Lego exhibit, with livestock entries taken online through Fair Entry or by mail.
