The New Gloucester Community Fair fills the New Gloucester Fairgrounds (Trotters Park) on Bald Hill Road for one Saturday in September, 9 AM to 3 PM. The grounds were once an active horse racing track with grandstands and an old-fashioned county fair; today about 70 vendors, crafters and community groups set up on the grassy infield alongside food trucks, entertainment, activities and a car show. Organizers expect around 1,800 visitors from New Gloucester and surrounding towns. Good to know before you go: pets and other non-service animals are not permitted, and smoking is not allowed on the fairgrounds. Portable toilets and a restroom facility are on site, and food trucks begin serving at 9 AM. The fair is organized by volunteers with the Town of New Gloucester's Parks and Recreation department (GNG Recreation).
