The Moxie Festival has celebrated Lisbon, Maine's distinctively different claim to fame — Moxie, the original New England soda — on the second weekend of July since 1982. Now in its 42nd year (2026 theme: "Moments in History with Moxie"), this free, three-day, town-wide festival features the Moxie Day Parade, a classic car show, Battle of the Bands, the famous Moxie chugging contest and whoopie-pie eating contest, a 5K road race, live music, and rows of food and craft vendors. Main events are centered at Lisbon High School, with activities across Lisbon Falls all weekend long.
