The 46th Annual Great Schooner Race is a traditional windjammer schooner race across Penobscot Bay, hosted by the Maine Windjammer Association each summer since 1977. The fleet of historic schooners crosses the starting line off the Rockland breakwater around 10am and finishes there in the early afternoon. Spectators can watch from shore or join a participating windjammer for the race.
